Assam Gets Northeast's Largest Thermal Power Plant

The Assam CM laid the foundation stone for a 3,200 MW Ultra-Supercritical Thermal Power Plant at Chapar, Dhubri district, developed by Adani Power Ltd with ₹48,000 crore investment. Once commissioned in phases from December 2030, it will surpass the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project as Northeast India's largest power project by installed capacity.
