Background and Context

Exercise Cyclone is a bilateral military exercise initiated in 2023 between the special operations units of India and Egypt. It is conducted alternately in both countries to strengthen defense cooperation and operational synergy.

  • The inaugural edition (Cyclone-I) was held in India in 2023, followed by Cyclone-II in Egypt in 2024, and Cyclone-III in India in 2025.
  • The 2026 edition, Cyclone-IV, marks the second time the exercise is being hosted by Egypt.
