This multi-sectoral strategy addresses women at every stage—from pregnancy and early childhood through adolescence, adulthood, and economic leadership.

Maternal Health and Child Welfare

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)
  • Addresses declining Child Sex Ratio through life-cycle approach
  • Promotes institutional deliveries, girls' secondary school enrolment, reduced dropout rates
  • Improved sex ratio: 1,020 females per 1,000 males (NFHS-5) from 943 (Census 2011)
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)
