National Panchayat Awards 2025: Overview
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj recently announced the National Panchayat Awards 2025, recognizing 42 outstanding Panchayats across the country under two prestigious categories.
Award Categories
- Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar
- Recognizes outstanding Gram Panchayats for performance across 9 themes of Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs)
- Themes include: poverty-free livelihoods, health, water sufficiency, sanitation, women-friendly governance, and social justice
- Awards conferred for Rank 1, Rank 2, and Rank 3 under each LSDG theme
- Selection linked to Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0 scores
- 34 Gram Panchayats from 17 States and Union Territories selected
- Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar
- Awards given to best-performing Panchayats at district, block, and gram levels
- 8 Panchayats selected: 3 district Panchayats, 2 block Panchayats, and 3 Gram Panchayats

Financial Incentives
- Winning Panchayats receive Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 5 crore per awardee
